KAILUA-KONA — Hawaii golfers will have an exciting opportunity to showcase their skills to the rest of the world this spring.
The United States Golf Association (USGA) recently announced that on Tuesday, April 16, the Village Course in Waikoloa will host a one-day qualifying match for the U.S. Women’s Open — which takes place May 30 through June 2 at Lancaster Country Club in Pennsylvania. The purse for the 2024 USWO will be a record-setting $12 million.
The announcement means that women from around the state are invited to compete for a spot among the world’s best, and will have until 12 p.m. H.S.T. April 3 to register online.
“The USGA values the qualifying process, and we appreciate the efforts of Allied Golf Associations throughout the United States and international Federations and Tours who provide thousands of competitors the opportunity to earn a place in our national championship,” USGA Chief Championships Officer John Bodenhamer said in a statement.
